Most records ordered prior to 2pm will be delivered the same day. Records ordered after 2pm will not be available until the following day. 9am to 5pm Saturdays There is no delivery of records to the reading room on Saturdays. You can submit an advance request to view records. Free Wi-Fi access is available to readers who bring a device capable of connecting to a wireless network (eg laptop).

You can submit an advance request to view records. The Victorian Archives Centre reading room is operated jointly by the National Archives and the Public Record Office Victoria (PROV). Free Wi-Fi access is available to researchers. Material from both archives may be viewed in the Shiel Street reading room. Different access arrangements and charging regimes apply to PROV material. Information explaining the differences is available in the reading room or can be sent prior to a visit.

Records will be retrieved within 48 hours. Please submit an advance request to view records. The reading room at the South Australian Archives Centre is shared between the National Archives and State Records of South Australia.

The reading room is shared between the National Archives and the Tasmanian Archive and Heritage Office. Researchers can access both Commonwealth and state records from the one location. Free Wi-Fi access is available throughout the building.
